Materials List

 

End pieces (2)-3/4”X4 1/2”X4 1/2”
Roof (2)           5/16”X5 1/2”X7”
Sides (2)           5/16”X3 1/2”X5 1/27”
Bottom            5/16”X2”X5 1/2”
Perch               1/4” X 1 ½” dowel rod
Screw Eyes     3/8”
6d nails or #8 wood screws

Directions
  1. Cut the end pieces 3/4”X4 1/2”X4 1/2” from a 1”X6”X2’.
  2. Cut the remaining stock in half.
  3. Cut the roof, sides, and bottom to the size given in the materials list.
  4. Bevel the sides of the roof, sides, and bottom to a 45 degree angle.
  5. Use a 1” drill bit to cut the entrance hole in one of the end pieces.
  6. Move 2” down from the center of the entrance hole and drill a ¼” hole. This is for the perch.
  7. Place a couple of drops of exterior wood glue in the ¼” hole and insert the dowel rod (1/4” X 1 ½”).
  8. Use the 6D nails or wood screws to assemble the pieces together.
  9. Screw in the screw eyes in the roof of the bird house.
