we create many things in NEW MEDIA
New media is a broad term in media studies that emerged in the latter part of the 20th century which refers to on-demand access to content any time, anywhere, on any digital device, as well as interactive user feedback, creative participation and community formation around the media content. Another important promise of new media is the "democratization" of the creation, publishing, distribution and consumption of media content.
A note on adding images to your design using the internet...
One way to make a design more interesting is to source it from an image online or find and add photos you like to your design. Putting photos in a design is more than a trend nowadays, because photos spice up a project that might not interest you. However, because of copyright and intellectual property issues, we are haunted by thoughts of having unique and original photos in our projects. Here are some ways to get the photos/logos/images you need for your own use.
Borrowing photos from the Web requires some ethics because, more often than not, these photos are owned and posted by somebody else. Emailing the photo’s owner and asking for permission to use the photo is the best thing to do. However, you may have to spend some time waiting for the owner’s response.
Borrowing photos from friends is the easiest way of having original photos to include in your blog post. Doing this doesn’t require you to formally ask for permission to use the photo. Sometimes, borrowing photos from friends requires only a bit of recognition through putting the photographer’s name in the photo caption.
Shoot your own photo! Having your own camera is a requirement. The camera doesn’t have to be a costly DSLR or a high-tech point-and-shoot camera. Digital cameras are great companions for bloggers.
If you don’t have friends to borrow photos from, or if you don’t have the guts to email a photographer to ask for permission to use his or her photos, you can always resort to taking your own photos.
Use image editing software to make stock photos more interestingYou don’t have to be an expert in photography and image editing to know how to make photos look more interesting. Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, and Ms Paint are always dependable in helping you come up with interesting photos for text-heavy blog posts. Photoshop and Draw are great tools in creating professional-looking photos out of boring photos in your file storage. These tools are also useful in editing and combining existing photos. Adobe Photoshop can always help your dull photos look like masterpieces from an experienced photographer.
Buy photos online if you have money to spare, buying photos online from stock photography sites is also an option. This ensures that you have original photographs, because most professional photographers don’t resell their already-sold photos.
